TikTok Shop settings

Introduction

To ensure a smooth and automated returns process with the ReBound-TikTok Shop app, there are several key configurations that must be set directly in your TikTok Shop seller account. These settings control how returns are approved, which carriers buyers can use, and what return reasons are available. Some of these changes require you to contact your TikTok Shop account manager or support team.

1. Set Returns to Auto-Approve

Why

Auto-approving returns ensures that buyers can initiate and complete returns without waiting for manual approval from your team. This is required for the ReBound integration to work seamlessly.

How to set

  • Log in to your TikTok Shop Seller Center.
  • Go to Orders > Filfillment settings.
  • Go to the Returns and refunds tab.
  • Create a new policy for Auto-approve refunds and configure it as desired.
  • Save your changes.

If you cannot find this setting, contact your TikTok Shop account manager for assistance.

📘

You can choose to enable return auto-approvals only for some return reasons or refund value. Any scenario for which you don't enable this will require manual approval of returns in your TikTok Shop Seller Center.

The ReBound app only reacts to approved returns, meaning that no return labels are unnecessarily generated and uploaded to TikTok before that return is approved.

  1. Select list of return carrier services

Why

Buyers can only select from the list of return carriers that are enabled for your shop. The available carrier services in your shop (e.g., Royal Mail QR drop-off, EVRi QR drop-off, InPost QR drop-off) are managed by TikTok, not by ReBound.

You must request TikTok to enable or update this list for your shop.

The carriers list should match the carriers we have enabled for your ReBound account. If you're unsure which carriers are enabled for your account, please check with your ReBound client manager.

📘

A carrier service is not the same as the carrier. It also includes the label type and handover method. For example, Royal Mail (carrier) can offer both label or QR code based (label type) drop-offs (handover method). In this example, Royal Mail label drop-off and Royal Mail QR code drop-off are two separate services.

Our standard TikTok Shop setup includes the Royal Mail QR code drop-off and EVRi QR code drop-off services. If you are an enterprise customer, you may have different services configured for your account.

How to set

  • Prepare a list of the carrier services you want to offer for returns.
  • Contact your TikTok Shop account manager or support team.
  • Request that they enable your desired return carrier services for your shop.
  • Confirm with TikTok once the changes are live.

3. Configure Return Reasons

Why

Return reasons are shown to buyers when they initiate a return. The list of available reasons is managed by TikTok and must be set up by their team according to your requirements.

How to set

  • Decide which return reasons you want to offer (e.g., “Product doesn't match description”, “Wrong product was sent”).
  • Contact your TikTok Shop account manager or support team.
  • Request that they configure your preferred list of return reasons for your shop.
  • Confirm with TikTok once the changes are live.

Best Practices

  • Plan ahead: Make these requests before going live with the ReBound integration to avoid delays.
  • Keep records: Document your requests and confirmations from TikTok for future reference.
  • Test: After changes are made, test the return flow in TikTok Shop to ensure everything works as expected.
