Updating the integration settings

Introduction

After installing the ReBound TikTok Shop app, you may need to update your configuration — such as changing API credentials, carrier settings, or enabling new features. To ensure security and proper access, TikTok Shop requires you to re-authorize the app before you can access and update the configuration UI. This guide explains how to re-authorize and update your app settings.

When should you update your configuration?

  • You’ve received a notification that your app authorization is expiring or has expired. This should be addressed urgently, because it will result in app downtime (no return labels for your buyers).
  • You need to change your ReBound API credentials, flow key, legal entity, order matching settings or SaaS/Managed lanes. Usually, this shouldn't be required, unless no changes are required unless something
  • You are still setting up the app and testing has failed. Some of the configuration (e.g., flow key) may be wrong and require a fix.
  • Your business requirements or operational flow have changed and that must be reflected in the Rebound app configuration.
⚠️

If the app is already set up and is successfully running, please consult with ReBound before changing the configuration. This is to prevent accidentally making breaking changes to the app's configuration.

How to update your app configuration

1. Re-authorize the app in TikTok Shop

  • Log in to your TikTok Shop Seller Center with admin access.
  • Navigate to the Growth section and open the App Store page.
  • Click on the menu button (3 dots) at the top right and select My apps and incidents.
  • Find the ReBound Returns app and click on Authorize.
    • If your authorization has expired or is not unlimited, you may be prompted automatically to extend the authorization period before proceeding. We recommend setting it to "Unlimited" to prevent app downtime.

2. Access the app’s configuration page

  • After re-authorization, you’ll be redirected to the app’s configuration page.
  • Here, you can view and update all available settings, including:
    • API credentials (Client ID, Client Secret, Flow Key)
    • Legal entity selection
    • External order id platform origin (for advanced order matching)
    • Carrier mapping and lane type (SaaS/Managed)
    • Any other advanced options

3. Make and save your changes

  • Update the desired configuration fields.
  • Save your changes in the app UI.
  • The new settings will take effect immediately for all new returns and data flows.

Important notes

  • Re-authorization is required every time you want to access or update the app’s configuration. This is a TikTok Shop security requirement.
  • Authorization tokens may expire after a set period (e.g., 3 months, if you haven't set the app to "unlimited" during the initial setup). You’ll receive notifications if your authorization is about to expire, and you must re-authorize to avoid service interruption 1.
  • Configuration changes only affect new returns. Existing returns will continue to use the settings that were active when they were created.
  • For detailed help on each configuration option, see the relevant guides in this knowledge base.

Troubleshooting

  • If you cannot access the configuration UI, ensure you have re-authorized the app in TikTok Shop.
  • If you receive errors during re-authorization, check your TikTok Shop admin permissions or contact your account manager.
